A New Crop of Officials

Sunday, a group of both adults and youths took the USA Hockey Level 1 and 2 training to become officials. They spent a few hours learning in a classroom followed by on-ice training at our Woodland Ice Center. After passing an open-book online test you may be seeing these participants in our games this year. It's exciting to see 8 participants from our 12U PeeWee team. The rules allow for officials to referee games to those a year or more younger. Watch out Squirts and Mites, your friends are going to be watching.

FVHA is excited to offer this training on a regular basis. This is a key aspect of the growth of our sport and we encourage participation of both children and adults. Give back to your community in a fun way. It's a great way for our players to learn and respect the role of a hockey referee all while learning the responsibility of what may be their first paid job.
